Last week I read Big Little Lies by an Australian author, Liane Moriarty. It was a very good book. I could see the Annunciation families, and before that the Hale families, all lined up judging in their judgy parent way. The book is about three kindy mothers in a small coastal town called Pirriwee. Maddy is a girl’s girl who likes beautiful shoes even if they mean her great harm, while Jane is a dowdy, thin, SINGLE, young mother of 24 with a son named Ziggy, and tall, stunning Celeste who sports twin terrors, a wealthy husband, and bruises a plenty.
There’s Renata who sounds like a ball busting CEO of something. She attends a lot of board meetings, and I pictured a fire plug Russian with boxed red hair.
